This is a basic, run of the mill wedding planning program that can help you organize and track your wedding arrangements, but in the end it may be more frustrating than it’s worth. The software is dated and built using simple data entry techniques. Additionally, the calendar years at the beginning of the program only go to 2007.
The guest organization is very interesting. Once a guest is inserted into your contact list you can record all aspects of that guest’s involvement. If you select “Bob Roberts” you are able to view all of Bob’s gifts, events and menu selections by choosing links from the left hand navigation. This type of organization is a double edged sword, although this way is convenient the only way to view a complete list of your guests is through the reports section.
You can import guests from an Excel or CSV file, but it is very difficult. You have to follow their directions exactly including renaming files. The guest list does not include formal titles like Mr. or Miss, you cannot sort guests into primary or secondary invites and there is no simple click box for invitees to bring a “guest.”
The Calendar section is weak. You can track appointments, but you can only view a list of them in the report view. Additionally, they provide a task list of things to do, but this section does not work with the calendar section listing things that need to be done. It would be best if these two sections worked together, when an task and date is added to the to–do list they would also appear on the calendar list.
Although the budget and vendor sections are effective and easy to use they are almost too simplistic and they do not work together. You cannot view a vendor while in the budget screen. The vendor list has an interesting payment section that can record multiple payments including deposits. However, you must use the list of vendor categories provided by the software. Although they do list the basics, you are unable to add something that may be unique to your wedding.
Wedding’s A Breeze included one of the simplest seating sections we reviewed. You simply assign a table number to your guests.
We found Wedding’s A Breeze to have an interesting technical support policy. Once you purchase the program you are eligible for free telephone support three times within one year. They do provide an email contact, but the manufacture failed to respond to our email questions.
