Wedding Globe Reviewer's Comments

We experienced two major problems when using Wedding Globe’s Wedding Planner. First, when we installed the software we received a MDAC 2.8 RTM error that indicated it was not compatible with Windows XP service pack 2, with out an additional patch download from Microsoft. While this isn’t a huge problem it is terribly inconvenient considering many people use XP sp2. Second, every time we tried to import our contacts the entire program froze and crashed.

Wedding Globe’s interface is formatted similarly to Microsoft Outlook. Resulting in a comfortable and familiar atmosphere. The task wizard will compile a list of tasks needed to be done before the big day organized by date. The gift section can record gifts received from guests and those on your registry list. You can also upload a digital photograph of received gifts. Vendors can be tracked through contact person, email address and website. Additionally, there is a section to record comments the bride or groom had about a possible vendor including likes and dislikes.

Unfortunately, we had several problems with this software. The guest list is not intuitive and you must type invitees’ names exactly as you would like them to appear on the invitation. Additionally, you are not able to sort your contacts into separate guest lists like A and B or primary or secondary. The budget section is poorly organize and doesn’t track the date items are paid or due.
