The Organized Wedding is the only wedding planning software we encountered that took special circumstances into account when helping you plan for your wedding. They include tips and custom changes for several Christian religions, Jewish sects, Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic ceremonies.
Guests can be imported and exported in CSV and Outlook Express files. Guest information includes formal titles, full name, address, email address and phone number. You can include spouse, children, guests and change invitations to formal or personal addresses. Unfortunately, they do not provide a section for out of towner accommodations.
One of The Organized Wedding’s best features is the budget section. The budget tracker works very much like a traditional invoice keeper and incorporates a color coded system for payments that have been made, have yet to be made and are late. Additionally, you can track various payments and take into account extra expenses like taxes and tips. Although this section is a little complex for the average user, once you get used to it, it is invaluable. They also include a short list of pre–loaded expenses.
This program stresses the importance of etiquette. From the invitations labels to the seating arrangements there is frequently an etiquette tip available in each section. In the seating section you can assign seats for the reception and the ceremony. When you drag your guests to a table they will automatically assign seats according to proper American etiquette; however, you can change it to European style or adjust the seating to specific needs.
The stationary section can create many different types of invitations with traditional and contemporary wording. Additionally, you can print reception cards, invitations to the engagement party, pew cards and more.
This was the only program we reviewed that could organize tasks by time frame or category. We would have like to see the program work closely with the calendar, with the ability for all tasks added with a date to also appear on the daily and monthly calendar.
Unlike many other wedding planning programs we reviewed you can print from just about every screen. Just go to “file,” “print.”
The Wedding Organizer, while fairly easy–to–use, it does not have a comprehensive help section. They have several articles about different applications, but there really isn’t a way to search or find a specific problem. They do provide email and telephone support. Our emails were answered in a day or two.
