HMS’s (Home Management Suite) Wedding Planning software is one application in a larger program designed to help you manage your life. However, most applications must be bought separately or in small bundle packs offered by ModTech.

With HMS you can include your guest’s formal title, name, address, nickname, phone number, email and relation. You can include spouse information, children or an unknown guest. You cannot sort guests into a primary/secondary list.

Additionally, you can track out of towner information and RSVPs. Although HMS allows you to import your contacts from a CSV file we found it difficult. If the fields in your CSV file are not configured perfectly HMS will not recognize the file.

The budget section works closely with the vendor section. All information you enter into the vendors section will transfer to the budget section. Unfortunately, all your vendor information must fit into the allotted services like bakery, caterer and so on. However, the services provided are comprehensive and each section includes payment tracking or deposit. Several services include a checklist of questions to ask each of your prospective vendors.

The budget screen displays everything needed to make a money assessment like, budgeted amount and percentage, actual amount and percentage, variance, paid to date and remaining balance. Although you can track the date you’ve paid for specific items, their “date last payment” selection is a little confusing. We suppose you can use this as a payment tracker or simply provide the date your last payment is due.

HMS allows you to write your vows and organize your processional. The program includes more than 100 tasks that need to be completed before or during the wedding. You can add, delete or edit all tasks. However, we were disappointed HMS didn’t include a calendar feature.

HMS gift tracking is much like a registry. You can place which items you want and how many you need. The software provides you with a list of most common item included in a typically registry. The seating feature is basic. You simply drag and drop your guests onto their appropriate tables.

You can easily print reports from just about any screen in the program. All reports are displayed and printed from a PDF file.

We found HMS to be fairly easy to use, but the interface seems dated. However, we had excellent experiences with ModTech’s customer support and this software will work with Windows Vista.
