We honestly wanted Advance Wedding Organizer to do better in this review. The interface, though dated, was well organized and fairly easy to use. It did take a few moments to get a handle on, but once you get used to it it’s easy. Our biggest disappointment was the seating feature. It didn’t work. When we inserted a celebration place on the event list it wouldn’t update in the seating section. We tried following the instructions and contacting the company. Nothing we did worked.

This product is organized similarly the #9 wedding planner, Wedding Magic. Inserting guest information is easy and you can sort them into primary and secondary lists. Although you can list guests as out of towners you cannot track their accommodations such as flight and hotel information. Additionally, there is no way to import or export your contact list.

The budget is simple and effective. You can track your expenses, but it doesn’t show price variance or specify the vendor and they do not include a notes section for additional information. They provide a “payment date” check box, we assumed this was the date the item was paid off, not necessarily the date the payment was due.

The gifts section has the ability to record gifts you’ve received from guests as well as those set in your registry. A unique feature to Advanced Wedding is the ability to track the gifts you have given, like favors to the bridesmaids and ushers.

Advanced Wedding Organizer has a unique list of check lists including a flower list, name change list and music list. They also have a wedding check list which includes more than 120 tasks to help you prepare for the wedding and all it’s corresponding events; however, you cannot add additional tasks or edit existing ones.

Advanced Wedding Organizer has a few unique features including wedding vow templates, suggested bible readings and a detailed menu section. This was one of the few programs that calculated meals and kept track of individual cost and specific dish names.

When we had difficulty using the software, the help button would take us directly to the section we were in. For example, when we tested the seating feature and couldn’t get it to work, when we pressed the help button the screen describing the seating feature was automatically displayed. The manufacture includes a telephone number and email address. Typically they only respond to questions from registared users, but they answered our questions without registration. However, they were unable to fix our problem.
